Struck in Macedon during the reign of Alexander the Great (336–323 BC), this silver drachm is nothing short of legendary. On one side sits Zeus, impossibly powerful, eagle perched in his hand and lightning bolt at the ready; a god depicted with the kind of energy that could move armies and shape empires. On the reverse appears Herakles, draped in the lion’s skin, his head turned in quiet strength. Together, they form a pairing that embodied Alexander’s world: divine authority, heroic endurance, and a vision of power that has echoed through the centuries.

Obv: Zeus, seated and holding an eagle whilst being completely yoked and ready to hurl a damn lightning bolt at any moment. Rev: Head of Herakles clad in lion's skin.
