The wheelbarrow sat half-filled near the compost pile. Weeds waiting for pulling, mulching to be done.  But her gloves rested on the stone wall. Instead of continuing, she wandered to the far end of the garden and turned to view the conservatory.  It was a view she rarely saw.

Her ring flashed as she rested a hand against the gate. The diamond scattering  light from every facet with each small movement. The garden had a way of changing her mind about things. Plants once considered indispensable disappeared. Others, overlooked for years, became favorites. She looked again at the border before her and wondered why she had ever thought it needed improving.
