Diamond Phoenix Ring

The newly vacant room had become her studio. Sketches lined the walls. A pair of vintage lamps waited to be rewired. Books were arriving faster than she could shelve them. In the corner, several framed photographs leaned against the floor, placement not yet decided.

The Phoenix ring rested beside a stack of fabric swatches. She slipped it onto her finger and stepped back to study the room. Diamonds flashed has she moved a frame from one wall to another. The arrangement was still incomplete. That no longer troubled her. There was time.
